The Apology: Paschelle Hall
I thought it was really cool how Socrates took his death sentence. To me, it seemed as if he was accepting of his fate. Someone in today's class also mentioned how Socrates made his trial into a learning experience. I also found that interesting because most people would try to save them selves instead of taking the opportunity to teach others.

i agree, i thought it was really interesting how he turned it into a teaching opportunity because i feel like it shows he really does care and actually has feelings rather than just being a sarcastic smartass.
ReplyDeleteI agree too! Socrates is a very smart man and i don't thnk people realized it. Then he show's up in court and just surprises everyone with is knowledge. I thought it was a great opportunity as well to spread his knowledge.
DeleteI totally agree. Socrates knew that he was going to die for something that he believed in. He had been practicing/teaching what he thought to be true his whole life, so why stop then? He made it clear that even in his afterlife he would continue to be the same that he was before!
