apology

After reading the Apology I thought it was too wordy, a little confusing, and kind of long, but actually turned out to be fairly interesting. I liked his confidence and ability to stand up for himself no matter what and in the end when he died, it was who he was. A fascinating  part to me, was how the Athenian legal system worked, where judges and lawyers didn't play a part and the jury was made up of 500 citizens rather than 12.In the end, I thought this was a well written piece of writing that I actually somewhat enjoyed, after thinking I wasn't going to.

  1. I like the point you made about the athenian legal system. I really didn't pay attention to the major difference in todays legal system and 2,500 years ago. It was pretty crazy to think about that and to see how they actually went about with situations like that

    1. I agree with you it was very confusing at times! It was very long!i agree he did a job sticking up for himself and not letting people walk right over him. I didnt think i was going to enjoy it either but at the end was pretty cool and after talking about it in class it made me think about it more and i kinda enjoyed after that!

  2. Given our democracy was based in part on this system, I agree that it is very interesting to think of the similarities and differences. Good job!
