Socrates Protagoras

Socrates discusses knowledge and wisdom and I thought the most important point he made was that virtue is knowledge and evil is ignorance. I found this to be very interesting and I wondered how it could be possible that simply by being “knowledgeable” you were also virtuous. He described virtue as wisdom, temperance, justice and holiness which are all very honorable traits to have and things that I don’t think can be automatically earned by having knowledge. I think you must make an effort to be a virtuous person and it’s something that you must practice and uphold yourself to every day but somehow Socrates makes it seem like such a simple thing to gain which I did not understand. I found this reading to be very interesting although I could understand the points he was making I did not understand what led him to think in the way that he does and come to the conclusions that he came to but maybe that is what interested me into reading more and trying to appreciate his thoughts and concepts.
