I thought the
reading this week was the most interesting of all that we have read. The
discussions about human nature and how we treat others around us was extremely
interesting to me. I think that the ideas that Hobbes had are still so
relevant, which shows how smart and forward thinking he was. One thing
specifically that stuck out to me was what Hobbes talking about not wronging
people and making peace with those around you. I think that so many would
benefit from following that rule. If people in this day and age would take a
moment to process how what they are preparing to say or do will affect others,
there would be a lot less hate in the world. I think that Hobbes fully
understood this, and tried to help others understand it.
I did enjoy the reading too and agree that it was definitely the most interesting reading we have had. I think if people took the time to understand laws I too think it would be easier to make peace
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you in saying that the readings this week were interesting and offered a lot of good information. Society can definitely improve and Hobbes offered good ideas.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Sarah. I believe that if more people followed Hobbes laws that the world would be a better place and that there wouldnt be so much fighting and arguing. I think it would be cool to see how different it would be if we started living by this rule in this era.
ReplyDeleteHobbes was definitely ahead of his time, a lot of his thoughts were stating obvious facts that are over looked. Society, as a whole, would benefit in so many ways if everyone would just abide by the first natural law, to seek peace. Completely agree with your statement about the reading being much easier than the past assignments.
