Leviathan Chapters 13-16

Hobbes has similar beliefs to those of John Locke, but in difference Hobbes thinks that we have the drive to conquer/overcome others due to their desires and appetites that crave more.  He knows of the cruel ways people think and how they want to conquer each other, whereas some people fail to believe that it is going on at all. Hobbes gives a few examples proving that people are always fearful of what others around them might try and how people remain ready for anything because deep-down everyone is out to get something from everyone. John Locke on the other hand believes that those desires are natural and not everyone is out to kill each other.

  1. I agree that Locke and Hobbes have similar ideas on the how people should treat each other. People generally have the urge to be greedy and take what they want whether it by force or bartering. It is human nature to want what we don't have.

  2. I agree with what you're saying and the comment above, however I think the world is at a point now that we know right from wrong and generally keep boundaries in place.
