Euthyphro

Socrates and Euthyphro meet each other at court and talk about why Socrates is being charged. Socrates then asks Euthyphro why he is there and Euthyphro says he is going to prosecute his father. They then go into a long talk about if that is the right thing for Euthyphro to do and deliberate what is pious and impious.
I did not like this reading at all becuase Socrates asks Euthyphro what his definition of pious and impious is mulitple times and they never come to a conclusion. It got old basically reading the same thing over and over again. I thought it was funny, at the end, how Socrates tells Euthyphro that they need to start from the beginning again to figure out what pious and impious mean. Euthyphro response is that he is in a hurry and must go.

  1. I could not understand why a son would ever want to prosecute his own father. I myself could never help convict my father with any crime. I know that it was expected and normal during that time period but it was definitely not something I would do.
