In the beginning of the reading, it talks a lot about how the bourgeoisie are far superiour to anyone else. They compel all nations to adobt the bourgeoisie mode of production. Free competition replaced the old system, which is how the bourgeoisie rose to power.
The theory of Communists can be summed up in one sentence: abolition of private property. They do this because property is seen to be the the groundwork of all personal freedom, activity and independence. I agree with that statement because property is one thing that peole have sole possession of. We can do whatever we want on our own property because it is ours and when someone takes the away from you they are basically stripping you of your free will. In a communist society, labor will exist for the sake of the laborer not for the sake of producing bourgeois controlled property. Marx also says that they do not want to abolish the education of children but free it from the control of the ruling class.
I agreed with everything else you said except "They do this because property is seen to be the the groundwork of all personal freedom, activity and independence." Communist principles seek democracy and liberation on their way to the formation of a communist state. To highlight that point a little more, the saying was orignially life, liberty and property(estate) in John Lockes philosophy. In the United States Constitution, they saying goes life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Multitude of reasons and explanations as to why the change in wording but, it goes to show that freedom and independence is not just derived from only one type of economic system(capitalism) and technically, given that change in wording, life, liberty and pursuit of happines(not property) means that The United States, along side freedom could fully function under the constitution as a communist state if the United States Republic ever wanted to go down that road(which I don't ever see that happening haha).
ReplyDeleteBut, yeah, I agree with the rest of what you said. Well said Aaron.
