apology

I thought it was cool how Socrates was really confident in his beliefs. Although he was sentenced to death his attitude did not change. It was hard to understand some of the points socrates was making at first. Once i read it the second time it made a lot more sense. I agree with him that his background and how he was raised can make him see things in a different way. His views were definitely different but i enjoyed reading the story and it made a lot of sense to me. He is an inspiration by standing up for what he believed in. He was a critical thinker and was most definitely a leader instead of a follower. Before reading this i knew nothing about Socrates. I found it very interesting and I liked having to think about what he meant and why he thought in such ways.

  1. I agree that his defiance-until-death approach was admirable and inspirational. And yes, he was most certainly a critical thinker and for that, he should have never been asked to apologize or conform to society so I understand why he did what he did. He felt strongly about his values and was ready to sacrifice his life before he sacrificed his dignity.

  2. Great post, Aaron. Just give me a little more specifics--I love what you've said, but show me where you got it from.
