Rubin
I thought that this reading was interesting, but also a little outdated. Rubin's ideas of women's need for equality were progressive at the time, but are now obvious. This reading shows just how far women have come in the time since this was written. Gender equality is something that, in this day and age, seems to be guaranteed, but in Rubin's time it was a luxury to be treated as an equal to men.

I agree I think this reading just reiterates how much women have overcome. Even though women's rights is still a big issue in today's society.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that this writing is a little outdated. But as Rachael said it does show how much women have overcome since. And while women have already overcome so much, equality is not 100% yet, but is very close. In fact women's rights was one of the main points brought up within the election that took place this week.
ReplyDeletei agree with what everyone has said that women have come along way even though we still are dealing with some issues today.
