the clan

I thought that this was the easiest reading we have had so far. It was interesting to read about the testing of nuclear weapons. I think that it is necessary to test our weapons but we should do it in a place where no one would be affected. I also think that it is cool how we are free to say anything about the government, considering that back in the day it was not acceptable. I am thankful for the things that our government does to keep us protected and the freedoms that they provide us.

  1. I too think it is necessary to test weapons and I also think it is cool how we are free to speak our minds. Unfortunately, for the author of this story, she was not arrested for speaking her mind; she was arrested for trespassing. In the 50s, 60s, Americans trusted our government much more because they had no reason not to trust our government but in the 70s government trust eroded away with the Watergate Scandal/Nixon and today you will be hard pressed to find many Americans that trust their government. I trust our government though and like you, I am very thankful for the things that our government does to keep us protected and the freedoms we have as citizens granted under our government.

  2. I am also appreciative of what the government does for us but at the same time I dont think its smart to let the government do everything for us and control everything because it is important that the government stays being run by the people and as long as the people have a voice and a say then the government will be able to serve us in the fairest and most straight forward way.

  3. I also agree that the testing of weapons should be done elsewhere. I too think that Americans should be able to trust their government because they are the ones that make possible the things we need to survive freely in our societies everyday.

  4. I agree that we should not just stand idle against injustice for the sake of not wanting to create 'ripples'. We should question authority, and act when necessary.

  5. Definitively the easiest. One of the more modern as well, which is probably why.
